Life is a Song - Part 3

The commotion was getting on Vivek’s nerves. A boisterous group of school kids had landed up in the cafe and occupied most of the sitting space and from Vivek’s point of view almost all of the breathing space.
He could not concentrate on his book. All that noise was making him wonder why he had even come to the cafe today. At this rate he was not going to get any work done. And then Sakshi floated into his mind. All of a sudden, all that noise disappeared and all he heard was the jukebox.

Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me
Wow

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, gave your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah yeah yeah
Pretty woman, look my way…
Vivek was still so lost in his thoughts that he did not notice someone walking up to his table. He did not see her standing next to him.

"If you don't mind, may I join you on this table? The others seem to be taken."

Vivek was jolted back into reality. It was Sakshi. "It sure is my lucky day," thought Vivek. And aloud he said, "No no, it would be my pleasure if you sat here with me." Sakshi smiled and sat down. Vivek was at a loss for words, trying desparately to strike a conversation. But nothing came out each time he opened his mouth to speak. And then someone came to his table to take the order. "Will you have something.. Errr.. Sakshi"

Vivek was surprised that such simple words refused to come out of his mouth. What was wrong with him? "I'll have a Cappucino and an apple muffin," said Sakshi. "The usual for you sir - espresso and a large chocolate brownie?" "Huh... Ye.. Yes.. Thats right," blurted Vivek - his words coming out in a rush. But much to his relief, Sakshi did not seem to have noticed it.

Vivek was awkwardly silent while Sakshi was busy typing away something on her phone. In a short while their orders were served.

With a short sigh Sakshi put down her phone and started sipping her coffee. There was a faint blush on her face. Was it make up… but it wasn’t looking made up… Vivek was mesmerized with the vision of beauty that was sitting at his table. He wasn’t sure whether it was real or it was a dream. Whatever it was, he didn’t want it to end. And someone opted for Savage Garden on the juke box.

Maybe it's intuition
But some things you just don't question
Like in your eyes
I see my future in an instant
And there it goes
I think I've found my best friend
I know that it might sound more than
A little crazy but I believe

I knew I loved you before I met you
I think I dreamed you into life
I knew I loved you before I met you
I have been waiting all my life…
